Happy Easter

This was the first year my Grandson was coloring eggs. He had been anxious all day to color eggs. I got everything ready, the eggs, the warm water, the little colored plastic dyeing dishes, and the colored tablets. I was surprised when I called him into the kitchen - he had a look of astonishment on his face. "What are we doing" he asked. I gave him a quizzical look and answered "we are coloring the eggs". Well after a few more questions, comments, and answers, I understood his astonishment. He thought we were going to "color" the eggs - as in with crayons. Just precious, and we had so much fun!

I wish you all a Happy Easter. I hope you are enjoying some springtime weather and some time with your family.

Sunday Breakfast

Sunday Breakfast gone wrong.

My posting history has not gone as planned. I've been trying, but I have done so much work related travel, it's been challenging. I did have a post up this morning, joining Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescapes Thursday. I just wanted to edit one little letter - poof - I deleted it. No time to repost. I'll try again before another four weeks pass to be back - watch for me.

Dinner for One

Almost didn't make it in this week to join Susan for Tablescape Thursday at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/, but here I am with Dinner for One.

Do you have the opportunity either by choice or chance, to have dinner alone? I do. Many nights it's on the sofa in front of the television. Other nights it's on the comfy chairs in my keeping room with a tray on the ottoman. But some nights, it's here, in the dining room. It's special. If you find yourself having dinner alone, set the table in your dining room, light the candles, play your favorite music, and enjoy! It's for you, you're important, you're special.

It's a Snowy Night in Georgia

I am a native New Englander. When I moved south, I left behind show shovels, window scrapers, sensible snow shoes, mittens and scarfs. I'll never need those again I thought. Look at this - what the hell - it's Atlanta, it's Georgia, it's the South, it's SNOW! Although it looks pretty, that little red flower peeking out through the branches isn't so happy. I share the same feelings of that little red flower.

Tablescape Thursday - Valentine's Day Dinner

I love dishes, I love glasses. I love setting the table. When I saw Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/ hosting Tablescape Thursdays, I knew I wanted to join in. This is my first entry and hopefully this inspiration will have me joining in often. I would like to say every week, but that may be a stretch given my blogging history. We'll see.
Here my table is set for two for a lovely Valentine's Day dinner.

A Little Lost

Oh, I so meant not to do this. I didn't want a month to go by without a post. Everyday for the past three weeks I had a thought to get on over here and post something. Everyday I said tomorrow, for sure! It's not like I had nothing to say, I did. Work got in the way, life got in the way, the weather got in the way. I have so many excuses. And now I'm away on a business trip, I will not be able to post anything for a few more days. By my count, that means it will be February before I can get back here. So I'm feeling a little lost, I did not want to abandon this, I had plans. Well I have plans again. It's never too late, that's what they say, right? I'll see you next week, for sure!

Another Year

Another year- getting ready to say goodbye, and the new one, on the door step, just waiting.

Funny thing about new years, the one just past is over, no changing what happened, no do over’s, sure you can savor it, but it’s history. The new one, that’s a different story. Its endless possibilities stretched out in front of you to do with what you choose. A chance to start over, to begin again, to do better, to make a difference. It’s all there in front of you within reach. You just have to grab it.

My New Years hat in the picture – if you look closely it’s filled with words. Life Happens – what you do with it is up to you. I’ll share some of the words on my hat with you, it’s how I plan to live my life this new year. You’ll see me; you’ll know, watch me and remind me if I slip. Life happens and sometimes things get in the way of our best intentions but I am putting this out there so you will see if I am doing my best

Live, Enjoy, Grow, Shine, Adventure, Journey, Wonder, Experience, Play. These are my words to live by this year. Bring it on 2010, I have my game hat on, I’m ready.

To all of you, if you are spending this night with your family, or with your special someone, or even if you are by yourself, think about what words you want to live by as you welcome in 2010. I wish you all good health, I wish you love, I wish you happiness, and most of all I wish you peace in your heart
